This year we did our Easter egg hunt a little differently. Since Freddy and Kristen are too grown up to just look for the eggs, I led them on a Scavenger Hunt, one egg at a time. Each egg was well hidden and contained treats and a rhymed clue to the next one. They really enjoyed it! The hardest part was having to wait until their Aunt Carol and great grandparents arrived.
Meanwhile, the "boys" had target practice with their BB guns outside, while the girls admired the table setting and got the appetizers ready for the festivities. We had the usual ham dinner with the whole family around the table, (except for Laura, Chris and Owen who live in Prague--they joined us by phone later) and sent my parents home with lots of leftovers!
Easter was so early this year, that it was still cold outside. I'm just glad there was no ice or snow! It was also nice having everyone here on Saturday, leaving Easter Sunday for just reflecting on the true meaning and significance of the Resurrection.
