My Card Has Been Published!
What a surprise to receive a stamping magazine in the mail yesterday that I didn't order. The accompanying letter informed me that I was receiving a free issue because they published a card I sent in ages ago and had forgotten about. (No, they didn't say it quite that way...)
The magazine is the Christmas issue of "Just Cards!" which is coming out now, and my card is on P. 112.
I guess not having a good memory can sometimes be fun!

STORM PHOTOS--Click to enlarge
These were all taken from my car. The blue "sky" is actually the tinting on the windshield. We've had only 4 hours of sun (2 different days) since before the storm.
The first photo shows a generator placed at the junction box to run the phone lines. We were without internet and phone lines for the first few days. Even our cell phones worked only sporadically at first.
The following photos speak for themselves. They were taken AFTER the cleanup of trees and branches. Power lines were still dangling, and we had to weave from one side of the road to the other in 3 spots on this end of our street to avoid wires. What made it even more strange, was that you could drive along with everything looking normal and suddenly come to an area that looked like a war zone.
Notice the transformer laying in the dirt in the last photo.
Our power returned last night at 5:00--YAY!

SUMMER TOYS
I no sooner got out of my car, when I was attacked by a giggling water shooter! He obviously relished the idea of having a new (larger?) target!
Look who's behind all this frivolity!
...and someone else has a shiny new toy!
Woohoo--summer is fun!
