A WALK AROUND THE YARD

Starting from where I sit in the shade doing my crosswords, you can see many tiger lilies in full bloom. In the distance are the gates at the far end of the driveway. We're so excited to have all this abundance of color now that we've fenced the deer out!

Next are some of the early dayliles including one that reminds me of a peace rose with its touch of pink on the yellow petals. The deep pink ones are my favorite, although the ruffled yellows are a close second.

White astilbe against the tiger lilies along the driveway are a bright contrast.

In the back of the house are some tall wild flowers. We don't know what they are, but the bees certainly do enjoy them.

The rock garden is in full bloom right now with White Astilbe, purple Japanese Iris and bright yellow Stella D'oro Daylilies around the curve of the rocks.

Finally, in the shade next to my chair, is my favorite Hosta in bloom.

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Your yard is wonderful...I'm impressed that your hostas are blooming already. The ones around here aren't...but will soon!

Happy First Day of Summer! dana
