Not only were the prices ridiculous for pumpkins and gourds, but the Saturday crowds were soooo not worth it... Joyce and Lucy found a sign marking ornamental gourds at 2 for 99 Cents, PLUS TAX! (I guess because they're not edible???) Pumpkins were 55 cents a pound and mums were $5 each or 3 for $15--who are they kidding?
We escaped the higher prices and the crowds by going to a little farm stand Joyce knew of on the way home where I found 2 pumpkins and 2 mums to match--at more reasonable prices!
