Visiting the zoo on a chilly, off-season day has its advantages. Owen was able to "drive" the train as Elliot and Mom took in the scenery through the windows. Owen noticed that one of the rabbits who live in the middle of the tracks had escaped to the outside. Elliot, meanwhile, was content to ride and wave to us as he went by.
Later, Elliot and Owen got up close and personal with a lioness--through the glass, thankfully. As we were leaving, we heard the male lion roar from his outdoor area. It was comforting to know that he couldn't escape!
