Royal Champagne Brunch

Pictures won't be ready for awhile, but this year's February Blues Bash was a huge success! The weather cooperated, and there was a good turnout of royals in their finery, including a wide assortment of tiaras. I'll do my best to describe the event:

First, as each arrived, they walked to the front door on a red carpet. After being properly greeted and removing their coat, they were given a bejeweled nametag so that everyone would know their title. Attending were Baroness Joyce von Berry of Frelinghuysen, Lady Joan of Tranquility Gardens, Lady Elaine of the Northern Birches, Princess Di of the Southernmost Provinces, Duchess LaBar of Asbury, and Princess Sandra of the Lake, to name a few. One of my "peers" was Le Reine de France (Queen of France,) Lucienne, guest of honor, who wore a dark blue sparkly gown and a crystal tiara.

Once the guests had all arrived and settled in, I offered an appropriate toast after which we all clinked glasses and the party was officially under way. After a half hour or so, the conversations and laughter had reached a high peak and the enjoyment was obvious. Elegant finger foods were served, then castle cake and coffee. A review of past blues bashes from the royal archives offered an opportunity for guests to reminisce.

Before leaving, each guest was given a memento consisting of a hand-made card with a castle on the front and a refrigerator magnet that said "It's good to be Queen." Crystal champagne glass charms were also taken home for a keepsake. All in all, it was a splendid event!

Royal photographs were taken and will be posted as soon as they become available.
